Meet the Coaches

Rbekah Conklin

Rebekah Conklin

Head Coach

Rebekah will be joining NW Reign for her 1st season. She started her adult coaching career 3 years ago, working with the u12 age group in community education and just wrapped her first season with u14's.  Rebekah is excited about the opportunity to pass along her passion for the sport of volleyball.  She believes that youth volleyball helps to develop a daily work ethic that extends to a players' school and home lives.  She emphasizes the basic fundamentals of the sport so that athletes can progress in their journey safely, and with the basic building blocks in place.  Ultimately, she believes in hard work, enthusiasm and leading by example with a positivity that creates confidence.
Rebekah was introduced to the sport of volleyball at the age of 12, so she understands how a passion can ignite right at this u14 level!  She played throughout high school and was recruited to play for Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, ID.  After her freshman season, she was further recruited to play for Francis Marion University, a Division II school in South Carolina.  She started all 3 years in the middle blocker position while earning a degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Elementary Education.  Rebekah earned All-Conference honors both her junior and senior years and led the conference in blocks per game.
After graduating, Rebekah jumped right into a career working with at-risk youth, but eventually found her calling in public safety and has been a 911 operator/police, fire and medical dispatcher for the city of Portland for over 15 years now.  She loves life with her husband Tim, who is an amazing chef, and their two awesome kids Ella (12) and Kane (10). We are excited to have Rebekah join NW Reign and looking forward to a great season!

Nikayla Doane

Assistant Coach

We are excited to add Nikki to our coaching staff for the 2018 season. Nikki has been playing volleyball for ten years and has earned multiple recognition during that time. In 2014 her high School team took second in the Oregon State 4A championships. The following year they returned to take the coveted first place title. She was also named all league player, 2nd team all tournament team at state, and second team all state. Nikki is excited to transfer her court time knowledge to teaching experience. In addition to playing volleyball, Nikki has been a diabetic camp counselor for many years and has a passion for working with middle school aged kids. She is looking forward to bringing her camp leadership experience to coaching.

Nikki is currently a Sophomore at Clark College where she is completing her associates degree to further her education as an Occupational Therapist focusing on diabetic training and counseling. When she was two years old Nikki was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and never thought that sports were an option. Her determination and will surpassed her limitations and allowed her to reach her goal of playing on college. She hopes to teach young athletes the same, by putting you mind to something and working hard they can achieve their hopes and dreams. Her favorite quote is “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destination.” We are excited to have Nikki join our coaching staff, be sure to welcome her, if you do not see her she is easily identifiable by her contagious laugh!
