Kayla Wagnild

Assistant Coach

Kayla will officially be joining NW Reign as a coach after many years of working with NW Reign Coaches. Kayla comes to us after working under one of our co founders at Prairie High School. At Pairie HS Kayla worked as the team manager aiding in team support, stat recording, and team communications. Her team manager role transitioned into coaching and Kayla successfully coached as an assistant at Prairie for two seasons. Before her transition into coaching Kayla played volleyball for many years starting at the age of 12. Kayla played club volleyball in Vancouver before NW Reign was a club. She also played at Prairie HS. Volleyball is a sport that is very dear to Kayla and she cherishes all the memories she has made in her time of playing and coaching. She hopes to share that experience with her athletes and develop their love of the game and teach them to play with heart and passion!

Kayla stepped away from coaching for a couple years to pursue he career as a pre school teacher. She has spent the last three and a half years teaching in an early preschool classroom with two year olds and has recently accepted a role as a pre kindergarten teacher. Kayla says " teaching is the best thing I could do for a career. Knowing I’m making a positive difference in a child’s life and watching them grow and learn in the time I have with them is the most rewarding feeling."

When Kayla is not working,  she enjoys spending time with my family and boyfriend.  "I love traveling, cooking, and baking."  She spent some time traveling through Germany and France, the Bahamas, and parts of Canada.  "I love experiencing different cultures from around the world and bringing the flavors I’ve tasted there into my home kitchen for my family."

When asked about her return to coaching Kayla said "I’m extremely excited to be returning to the volleyball world this year and I can’t wait to see the excitement this season will bring." We are looking forward to having Kayla return and be an official part of NW Reign.
