Meet the Coaches
Suzy Adams played club volleyball for Blues, PVC and Rose City, and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy where she played volleyball and softball. She continued on to Portland State University where she played volleyball and was captain of the 1992 National Championship team. Suzy and her team have been inducted into the PSU Hall of Fame.
Suzy began her coaching career her sophomore year in high school traveling throughout Oregon and Washington during the summer instructing at camps with her high school coaches, Rick Lorenz and Malcolm Doi (Central Catholic/Rose City). Suzy began coaching club her senior year in high school and has coached at the 12’s, 14’s and 16’s levels. She spent 4 years as the varsity volleyball coach at Aloha High School, and 8 years at Hudson’s Bay High School, 7 as the varsity volleyball coach. Suzy currently works for Vancouver Public Schools in the district athletic office.
We are pleased to welcome Tara back to the Reign coaching staff for her 4th season with Reign. This year she will be joining us as the Assistant Coach on our 16-2 team. Tara is a 2014 graduate of Meadowdale High School where she was a three-year varsity letter winner in volleyball. Tara led her team to a fifth place finish in the state tournament her senior year as a team captain and setter. Tara set a school record for assists per match and also earned the team Most Inspirational Award and State Sportsmanship Award. Tara was named to the 1st team All Conference both her junior and senior seasons. Tara is continuing her volleyball career at Concordia University as a setter. Tara has a background in working with children as a tutor and is very eager to begin coaching and teaching younger players the sport of volleyball. She likes to focus on the fundamentals of the game and is sure to be a strong encourager for her players.
In addition to competing on the court for the Cavliers, Tara is working on earning a degree in Psychology.
