Meet the Coaches

Andrea Doerfler

Head Coach

Andrea has been coaching indoor volleyball locally for over 15 years, enjoying success at the 12s, 14s, 16s and 18s age levels.  Her teams have won friendship, power league and elite tournaments and have competed in the Platinum Division for the CEVA Region. Coach Doerfler was also the head coach of the Prairie High School volleyball program for 6 years, resigning to spend more time with her family.  Her high school teams had a league record of 70-2 with four 1st-place league finishes. During Andrea’s tenure at Prairie, her teams made four showings at the State Tournament. The Falcons brought home 3rd, 5th and 7th place trophies as well as a State Championship. Additionally, Coach Doerfler was named the 3A Greater St. Helens Coach of the Year four different seasons.

Andrea began playing volleyball as a 4th grader and was a three sport athlete throughout high school competing in volleyball, basketball and softball.  Andrea received many school and league awards during four years of high school competition.  While playing collegiate volleyball at Linfield College for Head Coach Shane Kimura, Andrea was a 4-year starting middle blocker and outside hitter.  She earned several honors for the Wildcats including MVP and All- Conference awards while playing in a successful collegiate program. At the conclusion of her collegiate career, Andrea continued to compete in co-ed and women’s doubles grass tournaments as well playing on women’s indoor club teams.

In the summer months, Andrea directs and coaches in the Reign Beach program, training athletes in the sand volleyball game. Our Reign doubles-teams have enjoyed great success in the sand over the last five years. Andrea believes that competing in volleyball provides young athletes opportunities to challenge themselves and develop as strong, confident young women. She utilizes the club experience as a venue for young women to engage in life lessons that extend beyond athletic competition.  Her belief that rigorous training, team concepts, and discipline are necessary on the volleyball court guides her work with athletes.
